We were delighted to have secured front page coverage in the The UK Times newspaper’s “Rising Stars” series on 29th December 2022. The article is available for Times subscribers here (via Apple News).
The Rising Stars series highlights fast-growing companies succeeding despite two years of Covid-19 lockdowns and related economic turbulence.
Rising Stars in education covered three entrepreneur-led businesses (Classlist, Wonde and Apprentify) which are keeping pupils’ data safe, creating networks for parents and offering bespoke apprenticeships for people of all ages. The article highlights how the pandemic has accelerated school demand for educational technology and other services, and how this demand remains high as schools and parents search for innovative tools and employers look to upskill staff.
Classlist is given prime spot with writer Naomi Ackerman describing Classlist’s roots with Susan and Clare building a simple directory enabling parents to connect. It covers how the offer has expanded to include chat and group functions, an event management feature, a marketplace for exchanging uniforms and software to help organise school fundraisers - LinkedIn, Eventbrite and eBay all wrapped into one. The article describes the recent growth in paid subscription services; how the company has expanded, with very limited marketing spend, to support schools in 30 countries with over 450,000 registered parents, and the vision of becoming the most trusted platform for school parents worldwide.
