PARENT COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION
Build your skills
Classlist supports over 500,000 parents at parent communities in more than 40 countries. In autumn 2024 we launched a virtual certification training course, building on this experience. The course focuses on the practical steps needed to help build a welcoming parent community.
This instructor-led course is for all schools, whether or not they use Classlist. It is designed for Parent Association members and school staff working with the parent community. It runs at around 2 hours per day over 4 days, plus homework. What you will gain:
- A robust community strategy
- Comprehensive 90-day and 12-month growth plans
- Expert tips for fostering a thriving, positive culture
- Certification upon successful completion
Feedback has been phenomenal and we now run several training cohorts each term.
The next course is scheduled from 25-28 February 2025 and can be booked here.
If this date isn't convenient please register below to hear about later courses.
2024 Participant Feedback
Parent Community Management Certification
“This course was very helpful in gaining a better understanding of what a great school community might look like. The diversity in ranges of school ecosystems and specific needs were addressed. Clear guidance and frameworks on creating and implementing and supporting successful school communities was taught and practiced. Susan encouraged a positive growth mindset when it came to planning and ideas, and it was also great to learn new ideas and perspectives from the other participants.”
Belle, PTA Chair
“Susan and the cohort really helped me to pull my focus in from a very general viewpoint down to how to separate and achieve my goals. This course is truly a great intro to Community Management.”
Marwa, Parent Engagement Officer, Universal American School Al-Futtaim
“Five Star”
Hannah, Parent Engagement Officer, Deira International School
“As a beginner in this field, I found the course tailored to my needs, I got the fundamentals of Community Management and I got practical ideas to apply the next day. The participants had various backgrounds and it was very insightful engaging with all of them in breakout rooms. I recommend it.”
Elpiniki, Head of Languages and External Events and Community Liaison, Byron College
“Every module enabled me to immediately apply learning to my community. Susan provided clear and thoughtful real life insights and our cohort's fascinating input of ideas were welcomed and discussed. This course has given me the confidence to strengthen my leadership with purpose and vision, thinking now about what succession will look like.”
Laura, PTA Chair
“A great few days of learning, broken down well to allow it to fit with life! Lovely to meet other school reps and hear their experiences and to engage in productive conversations. Really well moderated by Susan and great to meet her!”
Victoria, PTA Chair
“The course rejuvenated my thinking about how to engage and manage our school community. It’s easy to fall into your own pattern of behaviour but learning from other school ambassadors and hearing best practice from Classlist has been invaluable.”
Mrs. Dixie Stafford, Chairperson - Parents Association for St Albans High School for Girls
“A fantastic course designed for school PTA's to help understand how they can keep the school community connected and raise funds for the school in the most fun ways. I enjoyed the discussions with all other group members and have a list of new ideas that I intend to implement this year.”
Vigya Nahata, PTA Chair
